TOKYO: Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary, SUGA Yoshihide, reiterated Wednesday that there is no problem with Prime Minister ABE Shinzo’s health.
“The other day, the prime minister himself said, ‘I want to do my best at work again from now on.’ I see him every day, and he hasn’t changed,” Suga told a press conference.
Asked about his thoughts about being viewed as a post-Abe leadership candidate, Suga said: “There is still more than a year until the end of the prime minister’s term as president of the Liberal Democratic Party. Talking about the post-Abe presidency is premature, and I am not thinking about it myself at all.”
“I want to do my best to tackle the immediate issue of the new coronavirus,” he added.
