SEOUL: Japanese Prime Minister SUGA Yoshihide has said he hopes to overtime difficult issues with South Korea and build a future-oriented bilateral relationship, South Korea’s presidential office revealed on Monday.
Suga expressed the hope in a letter sent to South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Saturday, according to the office.
The latest letter was in reply to a letter from Moon on Wednesday congratulating Suga on his election as prime minister.
In his letter, Suga expressed gratitude for Moon’s letter and emphasized that Japan and South Korea are important neighbors for each other.
