TOKYO: A medium scale trembler shook Tokyo and the neighboring Chiba prefecture at 3:58 pm on 28 October but no damage or human casualties were reported.
Japan Meteorological Agency said the earthquake epicenter was the depth of 70 kilometers under the surface of earth northeastern Chiba with the magnitude of 4.3 at the Japanese Shindo scale of 7.
Shindo 4 quake was felt clearly, as was the movement of building and this put people on alert mood.
The agency reported that lower magnitude of 3 Shindo was registered in many parts of Tokyo greater area where over 12 million people live.
Normal life was not interrupted by the tremble that lasted approximately 5 seconds, and there was no concern about a tsunami, the agency said.
