LONDON: South Korea has appealed against a ruling by a World Trade Organization dispute settlement panel that its antidumping duties on Japanese stainless steel bars violate WTO rules, it was learned Monday.
The appeal was filed with the Appellate Body of the Geneva-based global trade referee, trade officials in the Swiss city said.
The WTO dispute-settling panel issued the ruling last November, after Japan filed a complaint with the WTO over the South Korean duties in 2018.
At a WTO meeting on Monday, Japan criticized Seoul’s appeal against the ruling.
