TOKYO:  Kuwait congratulated Japan over the “the success of Tokyo Olympic Games” and confirmed continued bilateral cooperation.

Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Sabah, Foreign Minister of Kuwait conveyed the message of congratulation to his Japanese counterpart  MOTEGI Toshimitsu during a telephone meeting held on August 11.

Minister Motegi congratulated Kuwait’s Abdullah Al-Rashidi for winning the bronze medal for Kuwait in the men’s skeet shooting at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games on July 26.

Minister Motegi once again thanked Kuwait for its support in the event of the Great East Japan Earthquake, and both sides pledged to take the opportunity of this year’s 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Kuwait to further develop strong bilateral relations, according to the Foreign Ministry in Tokyo.

They also confirmed their continued cooperation in dealing with various international issues, the ministry said.
