TOKYO: The Japanese government decided at a cabinet meeting on Friday to provide relief supplies worth about 450 million yen to South Sudan.
The relief goods including 1,800 tents and 15,000 blankets will be delivered to the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, or IGAD, a regional organization engaged in efforts to stabilize the African country that gained independence in 2011.
The supplies will be used at facilities for training future members of South Sudan's police and military forces, which are facing calls to be reformed.
