TOKYO: Japan’s Foreign Minister HAYASHI Yoshimasa met with David Harris, the Chief Executive Officer of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), on Monday and lauded the relations between Japan and the Jewish community.

Harris is on a visit to Japan and Hayashi thanked him for his work with the AJC and for his contributions to bilateral relations. 

Hayashi said that Japan has a multi-layered relationship with the Jewish community that has enhanced relations with both the United States and Israel, he added that he hopes such relations will continue.

Harris expressed his appreciation for Japan’s friendship with the Jewish community, touching on its long-standing relations with Japan.

The two sides exchanged views on Japan-US relations, Japan-Israel relations and other areas of mutual interest.
