• Zelenskiy says he will join G7 summit virtually after invitation from Kishida

KYIV (Ukraine): Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday called visiting Japanese Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio a “powerful defender of the international order” and “a longtime friend of Ukraine”.

“I am pleased to welcome to Kyiv Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida — a truly powerful defender of the international order and a longtime friend of Ukraine,” Zelensky said on social media.

Meanwhile, Zelenskiy said he would join an upcoming G7 summit in Japan via an online link following an invitation from Kishida.

He made the remark during a joint briefing in Kyiv with Kishida.

Japan is due to host the summit in Kishida’s hometown of Hiroshima in May.
