TOKYO: North Korea on Thursday described the United States as a “a police state where social contradictions and conflicts thrive in all manner of hate crimes, and where blacks writhe under the coercion of power.”

The Korean Central News Agency reported a statement issued by Han Dae-sung, North Korea’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Secretariat in Geneva, saying that the United Nations was “forced to pass an anti-North Korea human rights resolution” by the United States “and its followers” on April 4.

The North described it as “the most politicized fraudulent document that is consistent with falsehoods and fabrications that cannot exist. It is an unforgivable interference in domestic affairs and an act of infringement of sovereignty. To put it another way, everything mentioned in the ‘Resolution’ fits perfectly into the nightmare situation of human rights violations in the United States.”

North Korea said it is the US that “has deceived the international community with fraud and false information.” It also accused the US of snooping on the private lives of its own citizens and hacking the phone calls of heads of state.

“The United States is the country that violates human rights the most and is a human rights barren land that must be brought to justice by the international community,” Han stated.

“The United Nations Human Rights Council, which has an important mission to protect and promote human rights, which are universal rights of human beings, is being swayed by the power and despotism of the United States and Western powers, instead of representing the common interests of mankind.”
