
Japan’s Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio on Sunday visited the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is currently under preparation for its inauguration.
Kishida was guided by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa. The Japanese leader observed the preparation status of the museum and saw the site of the restoration of the “Second Khufu Ship” located on the precincts of the museum.
After the visit, Kishida and Madbouly, met with reporters and stated the cultural significance of the museum and the financial and technical support Japan has provided to date toward its opening.
Kishida added that he was impressed by the museum.
The two sides confirmed that they will further strengthen economic ties between the two countries, while further deepening exchanges between Japanese and Egyptian government officials and businesspeople.
