KITAGAWA Katsuro, Ambassador, Director-General of Disarmament, Non-Proliferation, and Science Department, held a consultation with Asadollah Eshragh Jahromi, Director-General for International Peace and Security, on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation issues on Wednesday. 

The two leaders discussed a variety of topics related to disarmament and non-proliferation and agreed to continue consultation between the two countries. 

Last month, the UN General Assembly Committee on Disarmament and International Security adopted a Japan-sponsored annual resolution calling for the abolition of nuclear weapons, which denounces North Korea’s nuclear program.
