DUBAI: Japan’s Ambassador to Lebanon OKUBO Takeshi met with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Wednesday, in what the ambassador described as a “fruitful meeting.”

The two officials discussed bilateral relations, with Okubo reassuring and reconfirming Japan’s support for Lebanon during the “unprecedented times.”

Okubo also expressed his hopes for Lebanon’s stability of its socio-economic situation may attract many investors from Japanese companies in the renewable energy industry. 

The Japanese ambassador also met with Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib on Oct. 5 and exchanged views on how to deal with the ongoing energy crisis in Lebanon. They also reaffirmed the mutual relations between the two countries.
