RIYADH: Saudi foreign minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received in Riyadh on Sunday Dafallah Al-Haj Ali, the special envoy of the president of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council.
During the meeting, the foreign minister reiterated Saudi Arabia’s call for de-escalation in Sudan, where deadly clashes between rival generals’ forces have entered their third week.
He called for prioritizing national interest to save lives and preserve Sudan’s gains, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Fighting erupted on April 15 between forces loyal to the army and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), leaving over 500 people killed and thousands wounded while uprooting tens of thousands more from their homes.
