DUBAI: Japanese prime minister, KISHIDA Fumio, confirms the importance of sustaining the Japan-Saudi Arabia strategic partnership in all sectors of the economy as well as confirming the close cooperation with the Kingdom on working on the Saudi Japan Vision 2030.

In 2015, Japan was named the third-largest trading partner of Saudi Arabia; both countries share many common interests that allow them to maximize benefits and enhance bilateral relations.

Despite the fact that Saudi Arabia supplied 40% of Japan’s crude oil in the first five months of this year, KISHIDA emphasized that the partnership should be inclusive to all various sectors and aspects of the economy.

KISHIDA praised the kingdom for its consistent efforts to implement robust protocols that ensure peace and security in the country and the region.

KISHIDA also confirmed the importance of the Saudi Japan Vision 2030, which was established with the Saudi crown prince’s visit to Japan in 2016.

Vision 2030 is an economic and social blueprint aiming to reinforce and leverage the Kingdom’s capabilities and unleash its full potential to build a diverse and sustainable economy.

The Kingdom will emphasize its objective to be the heart of the Arab and Islamic world, and capitalize on its strategic geographic location to be an integral driver of international trade by connecting three continents.

Japan will be working closely with Saudi Arabia to aid in the success of vision 2030, with 60 participating ministries from both countries.

With over 100 projects in common, both countries are building on their mutual trust developed through understanding each other’s culture to broaden the existing bilateral relations and solidify their strategic partnership.
