“Jujutsu Kaisen”, one of the most popular manga and anime series, will be collaborating with award-winning video game “Fortnite” to bring four characters to the game starting August 8.

“Jujutsu Kaisen” is a supernatural manga that follows the main character Yuji Itadori, who joins  Jujutsu High School to avoid death by exorcism due to accidentally becoming cursed for swallowing a rotting finger that belonged to a powerful god.

With 23 volumes and over 80 million sales, the manga is considered one of the best-selling of all time. The anime began airing in 2020, and a second season is currently airing.

Released in July 2017, “Fortnite” is a free-to-play battle royale online game created by the American video game company Epic Games. The game had immediate success, suppressing 125 million players by May 2018, less than a year after being released. In July 2018, the game earned 142,824,500 yen through microtransactions.

After multiple rumors and leaks about the collaboration, “Fortnite” confirmed the collaboration on X, formerly known as Twitter, as they posted the official trailer earlier this week. The trailer showcases how the main characters Yuji, Megumi, Gojo, and Nobara will look in the game.

The characters will be available with the game’s version 25.30 update. There is no information yet as to what accessories the characters will have, but it’s predicted that they’ll come with a pickaxe and special emotes, which are small dance moves or gestures that characters can perform in the game.

The characters will be available to purchase in the game via the game’s currency V-Bucks. Players can purchase a bundle of 5,000 V-Bucks for 4,565 yen. The exact amount of each character remains unknown.

“Fortnite” has collaborated with various anime series in the past, starting with “Naturo” in 2021, followed by “Dragon Ball”, “My Hero Academia” and “Attack on Titan”.
