TOKYO: A video portraying the experience of onboarding Demon Slayer themed flights goes viral on social media, leaving the manga’s fans ecstatic. 

Named the best-selling anime of 2019 and 2020, Demon Slayer is written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge and was serialized from 2016 to 2020. By early 2021, it had sold over 150 million copies, making it the ninth best selling manga series of all time.

The first season of the manga’s adaptation was aired in 2019, followed by a sequel film in 2020 which became the highest-grossing anime and Japanese film of all time. 

In the viral video posted by Instagram and TikTok user otakuintokyo, the content creator took domestic flights from Tokyo to Okinawa and another one from Tokyo to Hokkaido. There are three themed jets, each with different features.

Not only is the inside of flight itself themed, but the lounge is also filled with cut-outs of the characters. Additionally, the flight attendants wear Demon Slayer aprons with character patterns on them, to bring the experience more to life.

The special flights are a collaboration between All Nippon Airways (ANA) and the popular anime series. The first themed jet was announced in December in 2021.

ANA has also collaborated with Pokémon to bring a themed aircraft of the series to boost tourism post COVID-19.
