Manga Arabia, a subsidiary of the Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG), recently signed a strategic partnership with Coamix, a renowned Japanese manga publisher.

This collaboration grants Manga Arabia the official licensing rights to translate and publish some of the most popular Japanese manga titles in Arabic.

Manga Arabia has recently been expanding its scope both internationally and in the region, especially with the launch of its e-commerce platform.

The company has also developed an advanced distribution network, becoming the first platform to offer manga volumes through delivery apps, making access to its publications easier than ever.

Strengthening its global footprint, the company also established Manga International and opened its official office in Tokyo.

Founded in 2000 by Nobuhiko Horie, former Chief Editor of Weekly Shonen Jump, Coamix is home to legendary manga creators such as Tsukasa Hojo, Tetsuo Hara and Ryuji Tsugihara.

The company has launched leading manga magazines, including the famous Monthly Comic Zenon, and is behind one of the most well-known titles, Fist of the Blue Sky.

Commenting on this partnership, Dr. Essam Bukhary, Manging Director and Chief Editor of Manga Arabia, stated: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Coamix to bring world-class manga to audiences in the region. This partnership reflects our commitment to expanding the reach of manga in the Arab world and integrating it as a key part of the region’s creative and cultural landscape.”

Itsuhiro Ishikawa, General Manager of Coamix, also expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the growing popularity of manga in Saudi Arabia and its increasing recognition in Japan.

He stated: “We are truly honoured to see Coamix titles featured on Manga Arabia’s platform, showcasing the strong cultural connection between our two nations.”

“At Coamix, we believe that manga is more than just illustrated stories, it is a ‘’life guide’’ That’s why we always strive to create works with inspiring messages. The idea that our stories can bring joy and inspiration to manga fans in Saudi Arabia fills us with deep gratitude,” Ishikawa explained.

Emphasizing their commitment, he added: “We at Coamix are dedicated to crafting stories that bring happiness to Saudi readers, and we also look forward to seeing Saudi talents create works that spread joy around the world.”

Manga Arabia has successfully launched two specialized magazines featuring Arabic and Japanese manga, targeting young readers and teens. Since its inception, the company has achieved remarkable success, publishing 81 issues with distribution across 220 locations in the Arab world, exceeding 250,000 copies per month.
