Japanese animator Makoto Shinkai’s critically acclaimed movie Weathering With You will be hitting movie theatres in the Middle East Sept. 10. The movie was previously released in Japan in July 2019.

Weathering With You is considered one of the most anticipated anime releases of the year in the Middle East region.

Marketing Executive at Front Row Entertainment, Samer Akl, told Arab News Japan fans in the region are thrilled for the release of the movie.

“We’re very excited to be releasing Makoto Shinkai’s Weathering With You in cinemas in the Middle East,” Akl said. “Followers of the genre have long requested cinemas to release the film and we are very proud to share this experience with them. We also look forward to many more anime releases in the coming period.”

The movie is one of the highest grossing anime films of all time, earning an outstanding $193 million worldwide box office and exceptionally positive reviews across the board, with many critics calling it one of the year’s best films.

Weathering With You was submitted for an Oscar consideration in Best Foreign Language feature category. The movie also received four Annie Award nominations, including Best Independent Animated Feature this year.
