DUBAI: Pop culture collectibles manufacturer Funko announced that its upcoming collection for Koyoharu Gotouge’s popular manga ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ is coming to the Middle East region in August across major retailers.

Speaking exclusively to Arab News Japan, Motasem Ahmed from Monkey Distribution, Funko’s representative in the MENA region said: “The [Demon Slayer] Funko range is undoubtedly one of the biggest releases of 2021 and will be on shelves around the time of the second season’s premier. We’re excited and will be bring the full range (13 SKUs including special editions) to the region”.

The ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ manga launched in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in February 2016. The manga series ended in May 2020 and has managed to sell more than 150 million copies, including digital copies, as of February 2021.

The ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train’ is a direct sequel of the first season of the Demon Slayer TV anime series that aired in September 2019.

A second season of the TV series has been announced last February, and is expected to premier later this year. It will follow the events of the movie and will focus on the ‘Entertainment District Arc’ of the story.
