DUBAI: UAE automotive company NewEast Group and Japanese automotive parts supplier AISIN commemorated a capital tie-up at a special ceremony in Dubai on Oct. 4.
The tie-up was cemented last year and the ceremony was held in order to celebrate with partners, customers and guests.
Japan’s new Consul-General in Dubai JUN Imanishi was present along with AISIN President Moritaka Yoshida, NewEast Group CEO Ahmad Juma Ahli and CEO and Managing Director of DP World GCC Abdulla Bin Damithan.
AISIN’s President Moritaka spoke to Arab News Japan about their new collaboration, explaining that it made sense for the Japanese company.
“The most important point is to have the same philosophy as the person you plan to collaborate with,” Moritaka said. “And we found that in Mr. Ahmed [NewEast CEO], so we decided to work together.”
He added that AISIN was the 7th largest company in the world when it came to automotive aftermarket business.
“In the MENA region, the aftermarket is a big market, and we need to focus on it,” he said.
When asked whether AISIN would consider collaborating with Saudi Arabia, Moritaka said that with the help of NewEast, they will work together in the Kingdom.
The AISIN president also gave a speech at the ceremony in which he spoke further about their expanding influence in the MENA region market.
“I strongly believe in the future growth of the MENA region, and I am reminded once again that our business is truly supported from this region,” he told guests.
In 2023, AISIN achieved sales of $34 million USD and has over 120,000 employees across 20 countries. Moritaka said that the company’s philosophy was “Inspiring movement and creating tomorrow.”
NewEast Group CEO Ahli also gave a speech as an AI clone, announcing the construction of a new headquarters for the company that is four times larger than the previous one and “more advanced than ever.”
“[The new HQ] will be the crown jewel of the automotive hub and will extend its reach across the Middle East, the vast continent of Africa and beyond,” he said. “We will not embark on this journey alone; we collaborate with AISIN and are shaping the future together and paving the way for a new era.”
The two businessmen exchanged partnership plaques to commemorate their newly found partnership.
