DUBAI: Abdalla Mohamed, known as Eriito, is a talented UAE-based content creator who has mastered the art of creating captivating and engaging content related to his passion for Japanese culture as well as his knowledge of the Japanese language. He has over 630,000 subscribers on YouTube and over 145,000 followers on Instagram.
The content creator told Arab News Japan that his first introduction to Japanese culture was through Naruto, adding that his favorite manga is Gintama.
Eriito mentioned that his inspiration to become a content creator was his fascination with the world of anime and Japanese culture, and he decided to bring this culture to the Middle East.
“One of the most important things that inspired me in Japanese culture and that I embodied in my daily life was the language, as it attracted me in terms of vocal performance and pronunciation, and due to my intense passion for the language, it has become a daily part of my practical life today,” he said.
He started creating content in 2017 as a hobby before eventually making it his full-time job. His first video was a review for the 2011 anime Hunter x Hunter.
Eriito started learning Japanese language and culture professionally in 2017. He said, “One of the biggest challenges I have faced during my journey of learning Japanese was practicing speaking the language on a daily basis, as I had no one to practice the language with due to my Arab environment, as well as learning Japanese writing, specifically Kanji, which was a challenge for me.”
“Learning Japanese requires patience and can be very difficult, especially if the environment is not conducive. Therefore, it’s important to be surrounded by a suitable environment,” he added. For this reason, I created a platform for learning Japanese and voice acting called “seiyuo”, where we teach the language in fun ways.”
The content creator has never been to Japan before, but he is looking forward to going there in the near future. His future projects include working on an anime in the Arab world that perfectly represents Arab people and their culture.
