DUBAI: Many pets’ lives have been lost due to natural disasters like earthquakes and tsunamis. A Japanese company is working to reduce those tragedies with a survival kit specifically made for dogs.

The Pet Memorial Shop designed a special bag that contains survival supplies that might possibly save your dog.

The Evacuation Life Bags are made with fireproof and waterproof polyurethane and polyester meant to be secured around the dog’s chest.

The bag also has a strap at the top so that dog owners can easily lift their pet up to safety or stop them from running away.

In the bag itself, a pair of rubber gloves, bandages and a muzzle can be found so that at any given emergency, first aid can be administered to the animal.

Two large pockets are also attached so that food, water and other essentials can be placed. The dog’s name and contact information also has a special slot in the kit.

The Evacuation Life Bags are available in small/medium breed sizes, costing around 13,000 yen (US$119.04.) Another is a larger size, more suitable for bigger dogs, for 15,000 yen.

In memory of the 10th anniversary of the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake, Pet Memorial Shop is actually offering these for 10 percent off until March 31.
