DUBAI: New Japanese restaurant UDN serves genuine Japanese udon with unique flavor for people who want to enjoy the authentic dishes in Abu Dhabi.

About the establishment & challenges of UDN, a representative of the restaurant said: “UDN was established on May 3. It is inspired by authentic udon bars in Japan.”

“Our unique selling point is that we make our noodles fresh in house, twice a day, every day. One bite of our noodles is all it takes to get you hooked,” he added.

The representative said that before opening, it was difficult to find an authentic noodle machine.

“[The machine] is only sold in Japan and we had to import it and then use video calls with our partners in Japan to learn how to operate it and make the noodles authentically,” he said. “At that time, we couldn’t travel due to restrictions from the pandemic. That was very challenging. We got the machine in September of 2020 and it took us 4 months to perfect the noodles.”

UDN received great feedback, with the popular main dish being the curry chicken udon.

The crab salad and the traditional wagyu udon are also dishes that have gained popularity among diners
