Japan signs a Condolence Book in memory of Libya’s flood victims

DUBAI: Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs FUKAZAWA Youichi signed a Condolence Book on Thursday to commemorate those affected by the floods in Libya that took place on September 10 and 11. 

FUKAZAWA met with Ambassador Ahmed S. A. ALNAAS, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the State of Libya in Japan, at the embassy of Libya in Japan, where he showed sympathy for those affected by the flood and stated that Japan is in solidarity with Libya. 

The Parliamentary Vice-Minister shared that the Japanese government is ready to assist Libya if needed. ALNAAS expressed his appreciation towards Japan’s aid, including the emergency relief goods that Japan provided. 

The Libyan Red Crescent shared that over 11,000 people died, around 10,100 people are missing, and more than 30,000 people have been placed in Derna as a result of the flood.
