Seoul: Senior officials from Japan, South Korea, and the United States for North Korean affairs will meet in Seoul on Thursday, the South Korean Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.

The officials will discuss responses to Pyongyang, which has been making aggressive moves, and its military cooperation with Russia.

The meeting will bring together Hiroyuki Namazu, director-general of the Japanese Foreign Ministry’s Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Jung Pak, deputy special representative for North Korean affairs at the U.S. Department of State, and Kim Gunn, special representative for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs at the South Korean Foreign Ministry.

The last meeting of North Korea affairs officials from the three countries was held in October 2023 in Jakarta.
