TOKYO: The cumulative number of new coronavirus infection cases in Japan has exceeded 3,000, sources said Friday.
The figure does not include infected people who were on the Diamond Princess cruise ship, which was quarantined off Japan earlier this year.
On Friday, over 250 people were newly confirmed to have the novel coronavirus in Japan, including 89 in Tokyo.
The cumulative number of coronavirus cases in the Japanese capital now stands at 773.
