Japan’s ASDF salute medical workers on the frontline of COVID-19

Japan’s Air SDF staged a fly over in Tokyo on Friday to pay tribute to the medical workers who had been working on the frontlines to combat the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak.

The ‘Blue Impulse’ aerobatic ASDF team flew over the Self-Defense Forces Central Hospital as the doctors and nurses watched.

The medical workers have been working overtime to battle the pandemic, with many claiming Japan's hospitals and its staff were overwhelmed.

Japan has recently ended its state of emergency across its prefectures, with a total of 17,418 coronavirus infections as of May 29.

The death toll stands at 881. Meanwhile, the recoveries stand at 14,096.
