TOKYO: The first “Jordan Noshiro Week” ended after a week of cultural activities co-organized by the Embassy of Jordan in Japan and the Municipality of Noshiro City in Akita Prefecture, Jordan’s host town for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

During the six-day event, over 2,000 visitors got the chance to see first-hand the beauty of Jordan through a photo exhibition of the country’s main historic and cultural sites, in addition to its culinary diversity. Visitors also enjoyed viewing some short movies about Jordan and its Tokyo 2020 Games host city of Noshiro. Throughout the event, music by renowned Jordanian artists such as Talal Abu Al Ragheb and Tareq Jundi was played.

Building on and following the successful week, the embassy announced that plans are being considered to hold the event on an annual basis with more programs and activities. 

The embassy also noted that partners that helped with the event included Noshiro City, Tokyo City, Happo-en event planners, Baraka Dead Sea Products, Nashmi for handmade and Jordanian cuisine catering services, and Mezete Hummus/Al Kasih Food Production Company.
