Carlos Ghosn was given the green signal by the Tokyo District Court to talk to his wife via videoconference, according to media reports Friday.
Nissan’s former Chairman Ghosn, who awaits a trial on financial misconduct charges, was banned from talking to his wife Carole for eight months.
The Tokyo District Court has given the couple permission to hold a videoconference for an hour in the presence of lawyers.
The content of their discussion will be restricted but must be reported to the Court.
Earlier Ghosn’s defense team’s request for the couple to communicate was turned down on six occasions by the Court but finally they got the nod.
Ghosn’s lawyers have said they will request the dismissal of all charges against Ghosn when his trial comes up saying his prosecution was based on unlawful collusion.
