TOKYO: During his visit to Tokyo, President Andrew Parsons is inaugurating the Ariake Arena gymnasium where several wheelchair basketball demonstration matches were held.

The national team basketball players held an exhibition match while earlier in the morning it was the national team basketball players who clashed amicably with the Spain national team.

After the cutting of the ribbon to inaugurate the Tokyo Arena for the public, a warm atmosphere settled in and enlivened the gymnasium which vigorously encouraged the teams who played an exhibition match.

The meeting was held in the presence of Yuriko Koike, Tokyo Governor and Seiko Hashimoto, Chair of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee.

The Governor of Tokyo praised the efforts that have been made to raise awareness of sports and disability, she added that the barrier-free policy now makes life easier for many disabled people while Andrew Parson was amazed at the efforts produced by the  city ​​of Tokyo to make life easier for people with disabilities.

This month in Tokyo will mark Tokyo para sports month, an initiative that facilitates understanding of sport and disability.
