Gandhinagar: The finance ministers and central bank chiefs of the Group of Seven advanced economies Sunday reaffirmed their close coordination to strengthen sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine and support for Ukraine.

The G-7 officials, meeting in Gandhinagar, western India, discussed support for Ukraine’s economic recovery from the war and ways to enhance the functions of international financial institutions to address poverty in developing countries and climate change.

The officials also discussed taxes on technology giants and coordination with low- and medium-income countries to beef up supply chains for critical minerals.

The G-7 officials met before the finance ministers and central bank chiefs of the Group of 20 major economies begin a two-day meeting on Monday.
