LONDON: The UAE’s International Charity Organisation has donated 4 million dirhams ($1.08 million) to Emirates Red Crescent’s “Tarahum — for Gaza” campaign, launched to help Palestinians suffering as a result of Israel’s war on Gaza, Emirates News Agency reported on Sunday.

“Since the launch of ‘Tarahum — for Gaza,’ we have established a dedicated team to coordinate the collection of donations. These contributions, ranging from cash donations to essential food and medical supplies for women and children, are received at both our Ajman headquarters and Ras Al-Khaimah branch,” Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Nuaimi, chairman of the ICO board of trustees, said.

He lauded the support stakeholders including institutions, companies and donors.

ERC Director Mohammad Omar Al-Shammari thanked the ICO’s administration and field teams for their efforts in support of the campaign, one of the charity’s most important initiatives to assist the brotherly people of Palestine.
