Minister of Public Works and Housing, Yahya Kisbi held talks on Tuesday with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Jordan Office Director Miyahara Chie and the accompanying delegation.

The two discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the fields of housing, construction, contracting and road maintenance, the state news agency Petra reported.

The meeting centered on the transference of the latest technologies utilized in Japan to Jordan and the provision of support from the Japanese government in the construction of roads and bridges that lead to the King Hussein Bridge crossing due to their “humanitarian importance.”

Kisbi said that the acquisition of Japanese funding for the the King Hussein Bridge project and the road leading to it is “a good and clear Japanese gesture to consolidate regional peace.”

In the meeting, the minister praised efforts undertaken by the agency and their continuous support in the housing, contracting and construction sectors in Jordan, as well as the provision of courses aimed at increasing the efficiency of employees within the public sector.

Kisbi stressed that the constant cooperation offered by the agency serves the interest of both countries. Chie lauded the efforts of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing and its cooperation, reiterating JICA’s desire to extend and maintain their partnership.
