‘Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’
The second installment of Square Enix’s planned trilogy of games remaking their 1997 classic is set immediately after the events of 2020’s “Remake,” following the protagonists’ escape from the city of Midgar. Once again, players control former soldier turned eco-terrorist Cloud Strife to take on the evil Shinra Corporation.
‘Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth’
The latest episode in Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s popular RPG series is largely set in the US — its first time outside of Japan. Ichiban Kasuga travels to Hawaii with Kazuma Kiryu to try and find Kasuga’s mother, who is living with cancer.
‘Skull and Bones’
Ubisoft’s oft-delayed piracy and naval warfare action-adventure game — inspired by the sea battles of “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag,” should finally see the light of day early this year. It’s set during the late 17th century at the peak of the Golden Age of Piracy and players begin as a low-ranking shipwrecked sailor and must rise to become a pirate captain.
‘Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown’
It’s been 13 years and counting since a major installment in Ubisoft’s action-adventure platformer hit the shelves, but this month will see a new hero — Sargon — pick up the mantle. Sargon must leave his clan and travel to the cursed Mount Qaf in order to rescue his people’s kidnapped prince.
