DUBAI: Japanese idol Genki Iwahashi, former member of the Johnny & Associates group King & Prince, will be releasing his first photobook on March 14, titled “Labneh,” which explores his trip to Dubai.

Based in Japan and the United States, the singer explores Dubai’s vast desert and various beaches, giving fans a glimpse of his personality behind the scenes.

The photos were taken by Palestinian American photographer Rasha Mosa, who is based in Los Angeles and has worked with a variety of artists such as Skrillex, DJ Snake, and Diplo.

“I’m happy to be able to present my current self in my first photo book,” the artist publicly commented on the book. “When this project started, Dubai was the country that I intuitively thought of.”

“During the shoot, I always felt vibes that were completely different from those I usually feel in the U.S. or Japan. I was especially inspired by the vast desert, the historical sights, the culture, and the food of the Middle East,” Iwahashi shared.

Furthermore, the singer will also release a special version of the book on June 26, which will include additional content as well as a DVD.

The regular version of the book is currently available for pre-order on Rakuten and Amazon and will be priced at ¥3,300. The special version will cost ¥19,800.

Born in 1996, Iwahashi was part of King & Prince until 2021, when he announced his departure due to his struggle with panic disorder. He is currently a soloist and released his second album in 2023, titled I’m a Popstar.
