Japanese restaurant Wokyo Noodle Bar serves Japanese noodles with unique flavors for those in Dubai who enjoy authentic Japanese noodle dishes.

Speaking to Arab News Japan, Wokyo Noodle Bar’s operations manager Zak Alaalam said the distinguishing factor was the restaurant’s simple and quality affordable Japanese food.

“We consistently make quality noodle dishes served fresh fast for dine-in to your office or home. And this is all achieved by its dedicated hands on management, hardworking chefs, passionate sales team and strong personal delivery crew,” he said.

Alaalam said the establishment of the restaurant was a “love story” between him and his wife, who worked together as part of an airline crew for over ten years.

“Wokyo Noodle Bar was established in Dubai 2012 and our love for noodles and the cosmopolitan vibrant Asian cities vibes has sparked our passion to establish our restaurant,” he said.

He added that the restaurant’s atmosphere was inspired by “Japan’s casual and friendly Tokyo ramen alley restaurants.”

“This is how we created the name Wokyo. By combining the most used tool of cooking in our menu that is “Wok” with our favorite city in the world, Tokyo,” Alaalam explained.

The couple were faced with challenges when establishing Wokyo, as Dubai is an international city with a diverse people.

“We have to keep adapting to the changes constantly,” Alaalam told Arab News Japan.

“Our menu is small but we managed to satisfy natives from Japan, Thailand and China as well as England and local Emirati serving them healthy stir fry noodles and classic Sapporo ramen. We are fortunate that big international chefs and executive diplomats have praised our quality including young families with their children,” the Bahraini operations manager said.
