Japanese man Akira Takatoriya, also known as Shams Qamar, was spotted visiting Anime Village in Jeddah dressed in traditional Arabic clothing—reflecting his fondness of Arabic culture and the language.
In the videos, Shams Qamar can be seen exploring the sights at Anime Village in City Walk.
Although he was born and raised in Japan, as a student he was fascinated with the Middle East and eventually visited Saudi Arabia as part of an exchange program—also visiting various other places like the UAE, Jordan and Palestine.
Shams Qamar enjoys various aspects of the culture including the food, and has developed a firm grasp of the language, documenting his interests on his Instagram page.
