TOKYO: Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the State Affairs Committee of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, sent a telegram to Japanese Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio on January 5 expressing sympathy with those who died in the January 1 earthquake in northern Japan.

The letter was as follows:

“His Excellency Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister of Japan

I express my deep sympathy and consolation to the bereaved families and victims after hearing about the news that there were many losses of life and considerable damage due to the earthquake in the New Year in Japan.

I pray that the people in the disaster area will heal from the wounds inflicted by the earthquake and regain a stable life as soon as possible.
