The latest animated feature from the Digimon franchise, Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna premiered on Sept. 24 in Dubai cinemas, bringing old and new fans together.
The premiere was packed with fans who grew to love Digimon through television, video games, card games and toys over the years.
The event also featured exciting quizzes, giving supporters the opportunity to win prizes including action figures and signed posters from Tomohisa Taguchi, the movie’s director.
Samer Akl, marketing executive at Front Row Entertainment spoke to Arab News Japan about the UAE premiere of the movie.
“It’s encouraging to see cinemas return and people come out for premiere and events like this again. We’re hoping people stay safe and follow the safety regulations cinemas have been working hard on applying and we look forward to more events like this in the coming year,” he said.
“It was also wonderful to see all the Digimon and anime fans finally gather again for a premiere after this long lockdown,” Akl added.
Digimon is considered one of the biggest anime franchises from Toei animation since Dragon Ball, with over 6 billion US dollars in franchise revenue.
The Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna movie is part of the 20th anniversary celebration for the Digimon franchise and serves as the finale to the original Digimon Adventure story.
The movie is available now in original Japanese, English, and Arabic dub across cinemas in the Middle East region.
