• Putin lauded UAE’s mediation efforts in the recent prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine

DUBAI: UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan had a phone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Monday to discuss relations and ways to bolster ties between the two countries, the Emirates News Agency reported.

Putin expressed gratitude for the UAE’s successful mediation efforts in the recent prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine.

Sheikh Mohamed and Putin also discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, with particular emphasis on the Ukraine conflict.

Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed the UAE’s unwavering commitment to regional and global peace and stability, emphasizing the importance of conflict resolution through ongoing dialogue and diplomacy.

He spoke of the UAE’s commitment to supporting all efforts to alleviate the humanitarian consequences of the Ukraine conflict.
