ドバイ：アラブ首長国連邦は金曜、「MBZ-Sat」と呼ばれる新たな人工衛星の開発計画を発表した。

新たに開発される人工衛星「MBZ-Sat」は、アブダビ首長国のシェイク・ムハンマド・ビン・ザーイド・アール・ナヒヤーン皇太子に因んで名づけられた。

We approved building the new satellite MBZ-Sat, the region’s most technologically advanced in the civil and commercial sector, to be 100% designed by Emiratis. ドバイ首長国のシェイク・ムハンマド・ビン・ラーシド・アール・マクトゥーム首長によると、アラブ首長国連邦の開発チームは、連邦内の最新技術を結集して人工衛星の開発にあたるとのことだ。

また同首長は、「MBZ-Sat」は民間及び商用向けに使用されると述べた。
